The WA Food Club
Learning to grow healthy and sustainable food
At Washington Academy, the 4-H Tech Changemakers, with the help of U-Maine Extension, have started a club after school, where students go to learn how to grow sustainable food for themselves and others.
Just recently, students in the club learned about micro-greens. They then planted and took home their own pot of micro-greens to take care of and enjoy!
Hour of Code
The Techchangemakers, using computers provided by Microsoft, travel around the local area to schools, libraries, and churches to teach kids and adults about coding.
The School Garden
Our core team along with volunteers from the local high school and community are working hard to restore one of Washington Academy's gardens.
In these photos you can see the volunteers removing old fence, spreading manure, and shoveling fine woodchips for the walkways.
